Microsoft Office Activation Error 0x80070190
You've recently installed Microsoft Office but after entering the serial number and proceeding with the activation process via the Internet you get the error 0x80070190. I believe this means, you don't have Administrator privileges to perform the activation.
On Windows 7/8, right click on one of the Office apps e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc. and select "Run as adminstrator" -- this will take you back to the activation page so you can finish the activation process (via Internet).

MediaWiki Login Error
I tried to login to my mediawiki site and the following error is displayed:
"Login error - There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Go back to the previous page, reload that page and then try again."
For the life of me, I do not remember exactly what I've done to my system which caused this error. Maybe I did change the user or group of my mediawiki directory (recursively).
Solution:
Change to the location of your wiki directory, e.g.:
# cd /var/www/html/wiki
Modify LocalSettings.php:
# vi LocalSettings.php
Add as the last line to the config file before "?>":
session_save_path("tmp");
Save the file.
Create a 'tmp' directory on the root of your wiki directory:
# mkdir tmp
Change directory permissions
# chmod 777 tmp
This should prevent the login error from showing up, at least in my case.

Cyanogenmod 7 GPS Fix for my Samsung Vibrant (t959)
I recently upgraded my Samsung Vibrant running Froyo 2.2 to Cyanogenmod 7 to get a taste of Gingerbread.
The upgrade completely rendered the GPS useless. All I get was the message "Searching for GPS..." when using the Navigation.
I tried flashing my phone with the radio updates KA5, KA6 or KA7 that's on the Cyanogenmod 7 website for Samsung Vibrant but this total messed up my phone that I couldn't make any calls. I had to completely reinstall CM 7.1 as the recovery did not fix the problem (making outgoing calls).
Back to figuring out my gps problem. I found out that a gps.conf file is missing from the /system/etc/ directory. Maybe this file was wiped out when I moved from Froyo to CM7.
The /system/etc/gps.conf: file would look like this:
----
NTP_SERVER=north-america.pool.ntp.org
XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_3=http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
SUPL_HOST=supl.google.com
SUPL_PORT=7276
----
I tried creating and copying the file to the directory but I had permission problems during the remounting process.
Instead of having to go through several linux commands, this is how I simply fixed the problem by using apps found in the Android Market.
a) Download "FasterFix" from the Android Market
b) Run FasterFix.
Choose "North America" (If you are located in North America) and click Go.
c) Reboot phone.
d) Enable GPS
e) Search for "GPS Status" from Android Market
App is called "GPS Status & Toolbox" by EclipSim
f) Run GPS Status
Go to Menu > Tools > Manage A-GPS State > Reset
Reboot phone.
g) Launched Google Navigation...and it worked!
Btw, I'm currently on CyanogenMod 7.1.0.1.

Samsung Vibrant Android 2.2 GPS Issue
I finally upgraded my Samsung Vibrant SGH-T959 to Firmware 2.2 build FROYO.UVKA6 only to find out that the GPS now almost never locks to a signal.
Downloaded an app called GpsRestore by Samsung Mobile. Launch the app.
Make sure you do this outdoors where the signal is strong otherwise, the app might not fix the problem at all -- you will see the app 'retrying' until it fixes the problem.

Restoring Firefox Menu Toolbar
The other day I accidentally unchecked all the toolbars including the menu toolbar in FireFox 3.6.
Here's one way I know of on how to restore the menu toolbar:
Click Windows Start > Run
Type in: firefox -safe-mode
Click OK
The follow dialog box will pop up.
Check "Reset toolbars and controls"
Then click "Make Changes and Restart" button.
The Firefox browser is launched with the menu toolbar enabled.

Installing VMWare Tools 6.0 on Peppermint OS 2010.04.24
These are the problems I encountered during the installation of VMWare Tools 6.0 on a fresh install of Peppermint OS 2010.04.24.
A) What is the location of the "gcc" program of your machine?
If the gcc compiler is missing, use the following command to install:
$ sudo apt-get install gcc
After the installation is finished, to find the location of gcc,
$ which gcc
Output:
/usr/bin/gcc
Answer: What is the location of the "gcc" program of your machine? /usr/bin/gcc
B) "What is the location the directory of C header files that match your running kernel?
The C header files are not found under /usr/src/linux/include which is the default path specified on the prompt. Here's how you install the linux header files.
$ sudo apt-get install linux-headers-'uname -r' build-essential
replace 'uname -r' with what you get when you type:
$ uname -r
2.6.32-22-generic
The complete command:
$ sudo apt-get install linux-headers-2.6.32-22-generic build-essential
After the installation is finished, the location of the directory of C header files for your kernel is at:
/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.32-22-generic/include

Solving the TOra 2.1.1 Missing Error Description
I recently got rid of my old TOra installation and replaced it with the newer TOra 2.1.1. Every time I tried to connect to an Oracle database, I get a "Unable to connect to the database. ORA-27749784 missing error description." as shown below.
Solution:
Delete the oci.dll in your TOra directory e.g. C:\Program Files\TOra.
I have Oracle 10g client installed on my desktop. I believe TOra references the oci.dll in the Oracle Client's bin directory e.g. C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\BIN. If you copy the oci.dll in this bin directory to the TOra directory, it will work the same way.

Spring Web Flow Resources
Here's a few links that will help you get started with Spring Web Flow.
Spring Web Flow is a component of the Spring Framework's web stack which focuses on the definition and execution of user interface flow within a web application. It solves Apache Struts limited page flow functionality - but you can integrate Spring Web Flow with your existing Struts infrastructure.

How to Update the SSL Certificate when using Plesk & RHEL
If your Apache-based website SSL certificate expired and you are using Plesk to manage your domains, here is how you update the certificate:
1. Follow the instructions on how to generate a new key for apacheSSL. Here's an example from GeoTrust's website: https://knowledge.geotrust.com/support/knowledge-base/index?page=content&id=AR876
2. Find the location of your certificate file.
$ cd /var/www/vhosts/yourdomain.com/conf/
$ vi httpd.include
Search for this section in your httpd.include file:
SSLEngine on
SSLVerifyClient none
SSLCertificateFile /usr/local/psa/var/certificates/cert-BHkRhb
In the above example, cert-BHkRhb is the file containing your certificate.
3. Replace the contents of your certificate file with the new key generated in Step 1. The file contains the BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY and BEGIN CERTIFICATE sections. It's probably a good idea to backup the certificate file before replacing its contents -- otherwise you might have problems restarting Apache.
4. Restart Apache HTTP server using the Plesk Admin interface or
$ /etc/init.d/service httpd restart
That's it.

How to Download and Install PERL modules in Ubuntu
I haven't had any luck using CPAN to install PERL modules in Ubuntu. The other day I was installing PERL modules while upgrading a bugzilla installation and using apt-cache and and apt-get did the trick!
For example, if you are looking for Email-Send module, use "apt-cache search":
# apt-cache search perl Email-Send
The following modules will be displayed:
libemail-send-io-perl - Send mail via IO::All
libemail-send-perl - Simply Sending Email
Now, to install the two modules above, use "apt-get install":
# apt-get install libemail-send-io-perl
# apt-get install libemail-send-perl
Good luck!
